This site collects personal information for the following reasons:
Tracking site visits
As with most sites, this site uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction. We use this information to determine the number of people who use this site, to better understand how they find pages on the site and use our site pages and see the way they go around the site. Although GA records data such as your geographic location, facility, web browser and operating system, no such information identifies you to us. GA also records the IP address of your computer, which may be used for your personal identification, however Google does not give us access to it. We view Google as a third party information processor (see section below).
Disabling cookies on your web browser will stop GA monitoring from tracking any part of your browsing pages on this site. In addition to Google Analytics, this site may collect information (which is in the public domain) attributed to the IP address of the computer or facility used to access it.
If you choose to add a comment to any posts we make on blog sites, the name and email address you enter with your comment will be saved to this site’s database, along with your computer’s IP address and the time and date you added the comment. This information will only be used to identify you as a contributor to some of the comments of the relevant blog post and will not be passed on to any third party data processors listed below. Only your name and the email address you provided will appear on the site displayed to the public.
Your comments and personal data will remain on this site until it is appropriate to do one of the following:
1) Delete the comment or
2) Delete the arbitrator on the blog. Should you wish to delete the comment and the personal data related to it, please send us an email using the email address with which you responded.

Contact forms and email links
Should you choose to contact us using the contact form on the “Contact Us” page, no detail of the data you provide will be stored on this site and will not be transmitted / processed by any third party data processors defined in the next section. Instead, the data will be collected into an email and sent to us under the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). Our SMTP servers are protected by TLS (sometimes known as SSL), which means the email content is encrypted before being sent over the Internet. Email content is encrypted using our local computers and facilities.
Newsletter by email – newsletter
If you choose to join our email newsletter, the email address you provide will be forwarded to ActiveTrail, which provides us with email marketing services. We view ActiveTrail as a third party data processor (see section below). The email address you provide will not be stored in the database of this site or in any of our internal computer systems.
Your email address will remain in the ActiveTrail database as long as we continue to use ActiveTrail’s email marketing services or until you explicitly request to be removed from the list. You can do this by removing, using the removal links included in each email newsletter we send to you or by requesting removal via email. When requesting removal via email, please send your email to us using the email account in the email mailing list.
If you are under the age of 18 you must get consent from the parents before joining to receive an email newsletter.
